This is the most effective approach for tuning up your spring mechanism. For example, a great starting point for maximal strength would be exercises like Goblet Squats, Deadlifts, and Lunges. For plyometrics, focus on movements like Box Jumps, Broad Jumps, and Skipping.

 

2. Protect Your Hips and Feet: If you want to run injury-free, make sure your RE program targets all major lower limb muscle groups. Pay special attention to hip abductors and the muscles of the ankle and foot, as their strength is highly correlated with reducing pain and injury risk.

Plan your resistance sessions so that you avoid hard running for at least 24 hours afterward, as the negative effect typically disappears within this timeframe.
